2009 The Incarnations and Media Platforms of ‘Thursday’s Fictions’ A presentation on Thursday’s Fictions, a fantastical parable about reincarnation which has transmigrated across a series of artforms and media platforms to become a cross media work for the stage, the page, the screen and most recently the new media creative platforms of Second Life (a 3D online immersive interactive story world), machinima (cinema made inside a games engine) and mixed reality performance and film (layering, interlacing and interacting images from real life and Second Life). Each incarnation of the work extends and develops the central themes into the medium at hand. A presentation for SNIP at AFTRS. 2009 Entanglement Theory – World Time: Entwining Dance and Virtual Technologies A presentation on the underlying questions of Physical TV’s Real Life and Second Life dance research: what can be artistically achieved through engagement of dance with virtual world technologies? What are the themes and ideas asked for by this mix, if any? Is there an affordance for consideration of spiritual themes that this technology is uniquely able to provide?
