"This selection has been made by festival director as well as director of Dance and Media Japan , Naoto IINA. The festival has invited as fellow jurors the interdisciplinary performing arts unit "post theater [new york / berlin / tokyo]" (Hiroko Tanahashi and Max Schumacher) who will comment on screened works during the festival. They will choose contributions that illustrate best the specific qualities of the genre.  The festival does not promote competitiveness, since the genre of dance video / dance film is quite new. In order to foster the development of the genre and future judgment, the festival director and the two fellow jurors will emphasize some excellent works in this festival (during program 4 on Feb. 16th). These particular works will be screened at a future screening titled "International Dance Film Festival / Selection Screening".

"For the first time, the festival will also present a selection of the POOL 07, Berlin's leading dance film festival which is organized by Dock 11 Berlin (curator: Hiroko Tanahashi).
The festival will also screen seven older video dance-pieces as a selection of "International Dance Film Festival / Selection Screening 2006".
